Myanmar uses the first-past-the-post (FPTP) electoral system; also known as a simple majority system. It  applies to elections in all three parliaments: Amyotha, Pyithu and State/Region hluttaws.  As the electoral system is of great influence on the election results, there are 13 state and region hluttaw constituencies (including 2 ethnic affairs ministers posts) where candidates won by less than 1 per cent margin in 2015 General Elections.
